Stan's Donuts in Santa Clara, Be Careful it's Very Hot
Stan's Donuts lives up to Local folklore
On any given morning you can take a drive by Stan's Donuts and there you should find some serious breakfast treats. Among them:
- The raised glazed are HOT, tasty, a little greasy and HUGE
- Buttermilk Bar + Peet's Coffee (bring your own) need I say more?
- Chocolate Old Fashioned, great chocolate, great donut
- Cake w/ Chocolate & Sprinkles, again -- great cake and great Chocolate
Stan's Dont's:
- Nothing here is organic, that's for sure
- They've got what they've got, for isntance they didn't seem to have apple fritters that day
- No soda
- No bottled water for sale
Finally, they kicked us out for bringing our own coffee, so I'd like to thank Armadillo Willy's for providing us a place to enjoy Hot Donuts, Taco Bell for providing Pepsi for those who needed more caffeine and Quizno's who sold bottled water. This is one mini mall that had it all.
Sometimes there's nothing better than fresh, hot donut not made by Krispy Kreme and Stan's delivers. They may not be #1 in customer service but their donuts are top notch and made by hand, so bring your own beverages and plan on taking them to go or sitting outside.

Hello! I live by Stans but never been in there to try it. Sometimes I go by and there's no donuts so that may be why I never tried it but I think I might go by and tray again.
Have you tried the donut wheel on De Anza north of Steven's Creek? They're Open 24hrs and their donuts are nice and fresh and yummy too!

We've been eating Stan's Donuts for over 35 years! We moved from the Bay area, 15 years ago and when we visit, our first stop is always Stan's, they have not changed in 35 + years as far as we know. Not sure about the coffee, but like you say, strip mall has it all. We went to Longs, bought some cubs, and Safeco for a gallon of milk. Krispy Kremes are good, but Stan's is OMG amazing! Our favorite is the glazed raised, and maple bars.

Ha ha. Do you realize you have the only three photos of Stan's donuts on the internet in your blog?? I just stole one of them for our own internally introspective corporate intranet. Yes, I'd rather talk about donuts than corporate branding. Thank you, I'll have another.

OK, I have never tried Stan's donuts, but now I am looking forward to trying it!
But to mention a few of my frequented donut shops!
The greatest donut shop of all time, is Maple Leaf Donut's on Saratoga Ave. Why is it the best? Everytime I go in there...and I mean everytime, whether it be in the morning or right before they close, the donuts are super soft, and the staff is super friendly. That is what I call consistent! Something most establishments lack. This place is nowhere near I live and that doesn't stop me from getting my donuts here, I reccomend it to anyone and everyone who wants a good donut!
